Do guests have to type their full address at checkout?
No. Keydesk Direct offers UK postcode look-up, so a guest picks their address rather than typing it. On a phone that removes several fields from the longest part of the form, which is where checkouts are most often abandoned.
What is a direct booking engine?
A direct booking engine lets guests check live availability, see prices and reserve accommodation through a booking journey connected to your own website. The reservation goes straight into your property management system rather than arriving from an online travel marketplace.
How do I add Keydesk Direct to my website?
Keydesk Direct is a booking portal we host for you at your own Keydesk web address, in the form yourpark.keydesk.co.uk. It is not hosted on your own domain and it is not an embedded widget. You add a Book Now button to your existing website, and guests move into a mobile-first booking journey using your live Keydesk pricing and availability.
Can guests pay a deposit online?
Yes. You choose whether guests pay a deposit or the full amount, and card payments are processed securely through Stripe. Keydesk records the payment and tracks any remaining balance.
Does it work for campsites as well as holiday accommodation?
Yes. Keydesk Direct is being built for holiday parks, campsites, touring parks, glamping sites, lodges and other independent accommodation businesses, including per-person and per-pitch pricing where needed.
Does Keydesk connect direct bookings with OTA availability?
For Pitchup, yes. Pitchup availability is published from the same Keydesk calendar that feeds your direct booking journey, and Pitchup bookings come back into it. Other OTA and marketplace connections are not live, and we will describe each connection only when it is available.
